Dave Gearhart presented award to Terry Ward for Funfest
Terry Ward presented an overview of the application for a grant to make the park handicap accessible in all areas. The grant is for $533,050 and the funds come from the state and the county. He asked that we urge the County Commissioners to approve and to fill out the survey on any of the websites or on the handout. There is a master plan of the park that is available on the website too.
Brenda Coffer presented the advantages of belonging to Premier Federal Credit Union. She is a member of the SE Business Association. Members of our Association can join for free if the entire Association declares an interest to be a member.
Dan Rogers gave a summary of the Overlay Planning Public hearing for the Woody Mill interchange. The County Commissioners will view and vote next. The complete plan is on the SE Guilford website. Dan mentioned the plan developed out of a need for continuity and ordinances for our area. There were some objections from TREBIC but all should be addressed
Kirk Perkins talked about his role as a County Commissioner and representing the people in his district. FO Estates water and sewer should be a go. Lynwood Lakes is more uncertain. The fire study is being discussed and there are no plans to combine the entire county at any time in the near future.
New Business: Bob Chamberlain showed shirts for the Association. Voted on the 100% cotton $23.50. Motion made by Tom Ammeter, 2nd by David Michaels that members will be required to wear to volunteer in certain avenues.
Rosemarie Williams asked for us to consider sponsoring the League of Women Voters Healthcare Presentation. The board voted to do so. Follow up will occur with Jeffrey Knotts.
Tom Ammeter asked for any volunteers to help on the Fundraising Committee with he and David Michaels.
