An update on Funfest included the request from PG Town Council for $2000, SE Theater Arts & Drama Club will do a Kids Zone area, additional sponsorships from Buffalo Fence, RBM Services, Guaranteed Supply, Cornerstone Graphics, Isabella Pizza (formerly Angelias), Knotts Properties and Mike Johnstonís sonís HVAC company. Additional vendors were approached at Goat Lady Dairy & Rising Meadowís open house this past Sunday. We are trying to finalize the contract wording for the band. Horses, inflatables, car show are all set up. Food meeting went well and we are exploring some additional items to offer. We have gotten a commitment from Fred Holt with grill & the fireman for cookers/volunteers.  Tom will be going to a Chili Cook off this weekend and asked for others to join him.

Dan Rogers spoke with Mike Mills from DOT about budgeting for landscaping at Neeley Road and Woody Mill Interchanges. He thinks he has made progress in increasing the amount that was allocated for these areas.

Congratulations to Linda Welborn for school board primary election.

Jamie Cosson gave a nice overview of the origins of Camp Weaver and where it is now. We went on a tour of the facility with all the new changes. It is very impressive.  The ropes course in particular looked inviting, as well as the opportunities on the lake. Lonnie mentioned that we should visit www.PiedmontVoice.org  and list Camp Weaver as a huge positive aspect for our part of the county.

A discussion about community volunteers and a collection was taken up for Camp Weaver hosting our meeting.

Our next meeting is June 14th at Alamance Presbyterian Church at 7 p.m.
