Southeast Guilford Community Association Advisory Meeting Minutes4/16/13

Attendees:  Anne Hice, Harold Garrett, Jean King, Jeffrey Knotts, Aaron Harris, Jimmy Horney, Eric Horney, Ellen Maddox, Dean Maddox, Mike Johnston, Tom Ammeter, Denise Osborne, Paula Davenport, David Michaels

 

Guests:  Ellen Maddox on Pleasant Garden Planning Board and Dean Maddox PG Recreation Board, Jimmy & Eric Horney from Julian Milling Company

 

Treasurers Report: balance $2731.24

 

Membership Update: 1 new member

Jazz Night Update:  David Michaels & Tom Ammeter current sales of tickets coming in around 150.

Funfest Committee Report:  Paula Davenport Band selected: Carolina 5. Getting committees setup & looking at new things

Alamance Walking Trail: Aaron Harris/Harold Garrett  New signage. Boulders added to keep open entrance

Economic Development: No new updates from County of FO Shopping Center. Bonnie Renfrow (Randolph County Development) Will meet later in April about Megasite. No meeting set  up yet with Alan Ferguson.  Club has new Logo with lease by Ricky Proehl and renovations started for new gym.  Forest Oak Estates water and sewer contractor hired to construct. Pleasant Garden meeting Friday for planning & development Dan & Denise will report later. John Hardister working on a resolution to get Forest Oaks recognized on state map for signage. Has to go to Guilford County. Solar Farms Work session for Guilford County Commissioners. Fuzzy lines for tax effects and other issues.

 

New Business: Linda Welborn gave update on new George C. Simkins school. DOT moving forward with road access. County Commissioners have put off new Bonds for now. Nathanael Greene is high on list to be renovated.

 

Next Meeting: May 9th , 7 pm at new Jail with Sheriff Barnes. Will hear Sheriff Barnes talk and then get a tour of the new jail.  Will check on where to park.
